Weather in your favourite holiday destinations 2026 / 2027
Where’s Hot When?
Timing is everything when it comes to catching the best weather on your holidays. So, having that insider knowledge of where's hot is ideal. Here’s a quick rundown of the hottest spots by season:
Winter Sun (December to February)
Skip the frost and grey skies. These destinations are still toasty whilst it's pretty chilly back home.
Canary Islands Year-round sunshine with highs of 20 to 25°C. Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria are all cracking choices.
Dubai Mega sunshine, no humidity, and a cool(ish) 26°C. Hard to argue with that.
Thailand Peak tropical weather season, meaning sizzling 30°C beaches and next-to-no rain. Phuket is a firm favourite.
Mexico Think 28°C, turquoise waters, and cocktails that taste even better in the sun. The Riviera Maya and Cancun are top picks.
Spring (March to May)
Not too hot, not too cold. Spring is brilliant for city breaks and early summer warm-ups.
Marrakech, Morocco Highs of 25°C with plenty of souks and rooftop bars to explore.
Florida Beach days and theme parks at a solid 25 to 30°C.
Cyprus Beaches are heating up, and the crowds haven't descended yet. Paphos and Ayia Napa are brilliant in spring.
Egypt Perfect time to explore before the summer heat kicks in. Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada offer cracking beach weather without the 40°C scorchers.
Summer Scorchers (June to August)
Peak jolly season. If you're chasing serious heat, here's where you need to be.
Greece 30 to 35°C and big blue skies. Crete, Rhodes, Zante and Santorini are all sizzling.
Turkey Mediterranean magic with sea breezes to keep things fresh. Antalya, Dalaman and Bodrum are scorching in summer.
Spain The ultimate beach destinations, plus Fanta Lemon on tap. The Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca and Costa Brava are all packed with sunshine.
Balearic Islands Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca serve up gorgeous beach weather with temps in the high 20s to low 30s.
Autumn Warmth (September to November)
Summer might be over at home, but some destinations are still proper toasty.
Italy Sun-soaked sightseeing without the summer madness. Sicily stays warm well into October.
Portugal The Algarve dishes out highs of 25°C well into October, making it brilliant for an autumn escape.
Dubai Beach season is back, with temps dropping to a more bearable 30 to 35°C.
Cape Verde This Atlantic archipelago is properly warm year-round, but autumn is spot-on with temps around 27°C and minimal rainfall.
Malta Properly underrated for autumn sun, still sunny, still warm enough for swimming, and quieter than the summer rush.

How to Pack for Any Holiday Weather
Let's be honest, nothing ruins the vibe faster than packing for sunshine and ending up in a week-long monsoon. Here's how to sort your suitcase for every climate.
Hot and Sunny
Think: Spain, Greece, Tenerife, Turkey
Swimmers, swimmers, swimmers because you'll basically be living in them. Light, breathable clothing is your best friend (linen, cotton, floaty fits). Pack proper sun cream and don't underestimate the sun unless you fancy looking like a lobster. A decent hat and sunglasses are non-negotiable.
Rainy and Humid
Think: Thailand, Florida, Caribbean in certain seasons
Light, quick-dry clothes are the way forward because humidity is no joke. A waterproof jacket is essential for those tropical downpours that hit out of nowhere. And if your hair does things in humidity, pack accordingly (you know the struggle).
Chilly and Crisp
Think: Winter city breaks, Christmas markets, northern Europe
Layers are everything. A chunky knit alone won't cut it, thermal base layers underneath are key. Waterproof boots save you from frozen toes, and gloves, hats and scarves are the extras you'll be grateful for by day two.
Mixed Bag Weather
Think: Shoulder season exploring, spring holidays, autumn breaks
Pack for all seasons: a mix of warm, cool and waterproof layers is the way forward. Throw in a compact umbrella and a light jacket that works for sun or showers. Comfy shoes are a must whatever the forecast, and you'll want to be comfortable exploring.
